Driving and Operating the Tractor Safely

According to Decree-Law no. 138/2012, of July 5, in its current wording, holders of category B, C or D driving licenses who wish to drive agricultural or forestry tractors (types II and III) must attend Driving and Operating the Tractor Safely (COTS) training in order to obtain the T2 or T3 subcategory endorsement on their driving license.

Why take this course?
Because without the T2 or T3 subcategory endorsement on your license, you are not allowed to drive type II and III agricultural or forestry tractors. This course is the obligatory solution for complying with the legislation, getting your license endorsed and, at the same time, learning how to operate the tractor safely.
Recipients
Over 18 years of age, with a minimum of compulsory schooling and holders of a category B, C or D driving license, who wish to obtain specific training in the safe driving and operation of agricultural or forestry tractors.
Course advantages
Certified training and after approval by the CCDR, it is recognized by the IMT for the purpose of adding categories T2 and T3 to driving licenses. It ensures compliance with legislation, prevents administrative offenses and reinforces practical safety skills when driving and operating tractors.

Method: Face-to-face training | Duration: 35 hours | Certification: Certificate issued in SIGO after successful completion, sent for approval by the CCDR. | Requirements: Minimum age of 18, driving license category B, C or D, compulsory schooling and oral and written comprehension of Portuguese.
