Protection of Animals in Long-Distance Transportation - Ruminants and Equines or Pigs or Poultry

This course is mandatory by law for drivers and operators involved in the transportation of live animals on journeys lasting more than 8 hours. Farmers with registered livestock farms or their employees. Owners of vehicles registered or licensed by the DGAV. Have completed the minimum compulsory schooling. Trainees who do not have a school-leaving certificate may be accepted provided they are working in the profession.

training objectives / what you will learn
At the end of the course, trainees will be able to ensure compliance with current legislation, apply good handling practices, fill in the travel log correctly, use tracking systems (GPS) and ensure the welfare of the animals throughout transportation.
Course Format
Method: Face-to-face training | Duration: 22 hours | Certificate issued in SIGO after successful completion of the training and issuance of the CAP card on the SITA platform | Requirements: Minimum age of 18, driving license category B, minimum compulsory schooling and oral and written comprehension of the Portuguese language.
